The Yogic Aphorisms of Patanjali, a great Indian sage, has been my delight for the last several years.

Whether you regard his work as intellectual philosophy, or an interpretation of the principles underlying great religious truths. On reading and dwelling on his works, one emerges from it with a richer and more penetrating understanding of what one's human self, one's eternal self, and the entire purpose of life are about.

I bring him to your notice.

I love you quirky responses
Enjoy your discovery of Patanjali
So what do you see as what he sees as to the purpose of life?

Jay, can be, but I think this depends on whether one can truly free themselves from the constraints of formalised religious doctrines, which can impede deeper philosophical analysis, and search out such truths with an open mind.
Roman,
You leave out the obvious. What if the formalized religious doctrine is correct. (That is my personal belief.) In that eventuality to continue past that knowledge would be to move past truth back into err.
Religious doctrines are formalized because they already are the product of the deepest philosophical analysis.

The God of Is Real is a living God, so whether He chooses to be good or not is hardly contingent upon man keeping an open mind about it.
Full Stop! OK.

How to Gnow God?  Forget Patanjali--memorize the Proverbs of Khem!
