The notion of Open Source Religion suggests a "mix & match" approach to the future of spirituality.  Although this may prove true, the real significance of the term may rest in the 2 words "Open" and "Source".

We can natter about "God" but this term tends to conjure up pre-existing notions which, as often as not, form the basis of misunderstanding and disagreement.  Perhaps we might do better to reframe "God" at the "Source".  We could then go on and further redefine the "Source" as being "Open" and directly accessible to those who truly seek.

In an effort to contribute something of concrete objectives of this site, a version of the Open Source Code has been posted in a link posted below.  I believe this version to be the most precise and refined version of the code presented here.  I believe this code is universal in as much as it is being adopted by individual from a wide variety of cultures, ages and class distinctions around the Globe. It does not ask those who utilize an proprietary code to give up anything.  This is Open Source Code.  Take what you can.  Adapt that which works.

The code was first articulated between the 2 great wars (1936/37). It was further expanded through divine revelation until about 1969 through a single individual.  Unlike previous attempts at understanding God, the Open Source Code teaches that one must first have a clear understanding of the "Self" in order draw from the Source.  This is the prerequisite to true connection with the Supreme, verses traditional forms of ritual worship.  The code goes on to then define, with relative clarity and precision, what or who is God.

Of note, the Source Code is easy to understand and readily accessible to any individual without the need to go through a priesthood, founder, scripture (unless so inclined) or become engaged in ritual worship, chanting, breath control, postures, etc.   The approach used is Easy Raja Yoga Meditation.  See Link below for more infor.

As it turns out, the organization that is carrying this code forward is administered entirely by women headquartered at Mount Abu, Rajasthan.  These women are "surrendered" and for a period of 14 years were engaged in spiritual preparation before actions towards the realization of this godly vision began.

The intention here is to simply share an excellent example of Open Source Code with members of this site.  As most here are unfamiliar with the code, the intention is not to debate its relative validity bur simply to shed light on "Open Source" Spirituality what is emerging on this planet.

In addition to a links to the Spiritual Source Code itself, 2 videos are also included. The first is a presentation that Deepak Chopra gave to students of this knowledge.  The second is a rather non-objective depiction of the current administrative head of the organization.  These depictions suggest that the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University is not an obscure or isolated sect but rather referred to as a New Religious Movement.

A better title for this discussion would be "Open Sores Religion". What could be more convenient than a "religion" that accomodates all your pet peeves?  No longer will vegans be forced to "pick off the meat", goddamit!

I always suspected the very notion of a "source code" to be an exercise in religious dilettantism.  Kernel's post has not disabused me of this suspicion.

Frankly, Kernel, I often wonder if you have any interest whatsoever in discerning the true and living God, in right religion or in authentic spirituality.  Deepak fucking Chopra?  And Sid was complaining about the embarrassingly unintelligent discourse around here before this post!

It seems to me that you really do belong in that nunnery.  Perhaps you could take Alexander.ning.com with you.  He takes kind of a "Club Med" approach to God as well.

Hi Khem, you reaction is no surprise.

Yes, Deepak Chopra!  But did you hear what he had to say or did you simply say to yourself, "I'm Khem the Knower and this Deepak definitely is not"?

I listen for the message and meaning - even from Deepak Chopra.

This Forum post is about The Open Source.  Emerging reality and levels of consciousness.  The problems with Deepak Chopra is that guys like him don't make guys like you look very good. Your riddles and mysteries conceal more than they reveal.  Are you a relic.... an artifact of the past.  Khem was a Knower.

Did you watch the video about Dadi Janki.  Or, do you again say, "I'm Khem the knower"?

Dadi Janki is a verb.
