They are the oinly two people on this Site and we are but the by product of their conversations

Something to think about
On planet earth we perceive of up and down, north and south... but they are really like God and Satan, positive and negative. And why do they oppose one another? Because they are alike and as with magnets, opposites attract but likes repel.
Its that whole Yin Yan think all over again.

Those are the choices in Sovereigns, but each here chooses which they follow.

Permalink Reply by Kernel John on September 16, 2011 at 9:25pm WE exist within duality - a dichotomy. We are inclined to search for truth in terms of "this as related to that". These are both dichotomous - one unto the other. Without this realization, we end up with dichotomous thinking rather than that which is unified through knowledge and connection with the Supreme Source or Truth and Righteousness of All - as James likes to call it.
If we start under the premise that God created matter/energy (and science tells us it is eternal [neither created nor destroyed]) then, we must invent Satan to reconcile the cause of bad things like suffering.
Think about it. If God created everything, then He must be responsible for everything (including suffering) - unless . . . .
Once we release this medieval notion in favour of a more modern, refined and correct concept that God (the Source of [human] life) does not create matter but rather that matter (as with souls) is eternal . . . then we are released from this world of suffering (which apparently did not exist in a time/place called paradise). Should I say this again?
As much as others might caution you otherwise, we can now release the concept of Satan (as a quasi-human entity) into the netherworld of extraneous thinking once we accept that God is not responsible for suffering - we are. He is only responsible to us as we are to Him and so we can now be considered as co-creators (in or through consciousness) - in Christ.
Sorry Jeff.

We didn't invent Satan, God created him, and he tried to replace God.
You aren't sorry at all, and you're a liar for typing it.

People tend to make either or statements when there are a myriad of other possibilities
Simple example
God creates man - no sin
God gives man free will - no sin
MAN creates sin... god does not create sin

Don't be silly Jeff
Satan knows he can't replace God
Even with Job, Satan always had to ask God's permission.
Even with you and me, we have to give Satan permission

"But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. - Isa 14:12-15 NASB

in most cases the word we translate sin is an archery term meaning to "miss the mark". It doesn't say by how much. It is more hit or don't.

You mean like the serpent told Adam?
You mean like God said when he said "Man has become like unto us knowing good from evil?
We can fight against gods will, but do we ever think we can replac him as god of the universe?
