In a discussion forum I posted regarding the Cycle of Time, someone suggested we talk of the space-time as a whole concept - as something separate from the plethora of ancient symbolic references that rumble around this site occasionally. The idea being that we really do need to move beyond magical mystical thinking if we are to avoid philosophical cul-de-sacs.

Specifically, is space in its expansion and shrinkage, (or more accurately, as from current human perspective, its ever diverging micro-macro properties), also infinite like time? Is there a link?

If there is a link, what does modern science tell us about it?

I would like to pursue such a discussion discussion but don't have much beyond a pseudo-philosophical perspective that would benefit from being broadened.

I wish I would have seen that "Cycle of Time" discussion.  I would have probably taken part.

"Time" is the "Space" of the Spirit World.  That's why scripture speaks of "the fullness of time".

"Space-Time" is indeed a whole---as in single--concept.  Both are measures of motion, but whereas Space is where we measure the movement of Matter, Time is where we measure the movement of Spirit.  Notice how the term "Light-Year" signifies the distance light travels (covers "Space") over the duration denominated by a "Year" (a certain measure of "Time).

Khem, this discussion is to have at least a modicum of scientific flavour.  You say scripture speaks of "the fullness of time" because "Time" is the "Space" of the spirit world.  Should I churn on this further or are you prepared to provide some illumination as to the linkages?
Time & Space are just something we, human, know as real and subject to. The reason why we think another solar system is so far away because we are bounded by physics law such as Space. In greater picture (Real picture) there's no such thing as time or past, present, future as we know it. Everything happens simultaneously, eternally, and instantly. Without a beginning and without an end to the All-Existence.

You maintain that in the "Real picture" there is no such thing as past, present or future as you know it.  How do you know this?  What is "Real"?

Is Reality only defined by the laws of physics or must we not also perceive (sense), measure or somehow evaluate reality in order to confirm it exists and not simply a product of our imagination?  For example, if we were not bounded by the laws of physics could we sense this metaphysical reality more clearly of accurately that is beyond time and space?

For me the essence of time is movement through space.  Space has 3 dimensions, time is the forth.  I believe there is also a spiritual dimension and perhaps it is this that you may be alluding to.
