Hello everyone,
My name is Silnaika and I am a Wiccan.
Firstly, I would like to state that Wicca is an earth bound Pagan religion and it is NOT a form of devil worship.
Some may say that it is simiilar or the same as Witchcraft, but it is not.
Witchcraft is the practise of magic, whereas Wicca is the worship of a deity; so it is a religion - nothing to do with magic at all, although many Wiccans are Witches (myself included), but not all.
Wiccans are not "evil" at all. Many of us follow the code of moraliyty called 'The Wiccan Rede" which states "Harm none" at ALL times.
There are two versions of it; the MR (Modern Recreation Rede) and the AC (Actual Construction) Rede.
There is very little difference in these versions; the only difference is that the MR Rede states NEVER to harm anyone/thing even in self defence, but the AC Rede states that harming to defend oneself is necessary and allowed, which is understandable.
I follow the AC Rede because of this, it is just easier that way....and better!
Wiccans try to live in harmony with everything as much as we can. We give back just as much as we take from the Earth which is our mother in her planet form. She provides for us everything we need, so it is just to respect it.
Wiccans celebrate the eight sabbats; The major sabbats are: Samhain (Halloween), Inbolc, Beltane and Lughnasadh. The lesser sabbats are: Litha, Ostara, Yule and Mabon.
I strongly despise negative energies so I would like to not have to tolerate it from ignorant or other people that may want to cause harm.
I do love to talk about my beliefs with anyone willing to listen, I will also listen myself of course.
I do not like to tolerate any 'competing' with other religions as I do NOT view it as a game to "win". I am very serious about my beliefs and would always ignore evil people, unless I have to listen to them for some reason.
I hope that we can all be in harmony here so that we can leave all the hatred behind. I also hope the Belief Genome is as successful as possible, blessings to you all.

I am very familiar with Wicca. At one point I considered myself Wiccan, although now I tend toward the far looser term pagan.
Do you subscribe to any particular tradition within Wicca? Do you have a favorite pantheon?
I've always considered the Wiccan Rede a solid foundation for ethical thinking. I'm happy that you have decided to share it here.
Permalink Reply by Silnaika Saira on October 16, 2012 at 1:19pm I have many different beliefs. I'm really an elcectic Wiccan, I follow a few traditions that I feet is best for me. The others I have heard of sound interesting, but I am closer to only a few. I do have a favourite pantheon, as I feel more connected to it than any other. The Celtic/Druidic Pantheon, the one that allows a vast knowledge of and respect for the healing and magical qualities of nature; which I love so much.
I have always been dianic, but solitary. I am a Hedge-Witch, I love being alone. It makes me feel better than I can be when I am with company, but sometimes I will participate in group activities. I completely despise war and all the ways of evil. I prefer peace and will always keep it as much as I can. The Wiccan Rede helps with that.
I was never a hereditary Wiccan as my parents were Christian, so I found the religion myself through research because it was interesting to me. I never told anyone about it and no one ever asked me about it, which was fine by me. I would agree that the Wiccan Rede is a great foundation, it is good to have something moral to follow in a sea of immorals.
I always like to share what interests me with others so they can have something good that may interest them. It is better for people to understand what Wicca really is instead of them being ignorant. I would not care for them to be ignorant or not, the problem is that they be actively ignorant; they don't (always) leave what they do not like or understand/fear alone.
Atleast there is some good still on this ever changing but beautiful world.
Open Source Religion is a great place to share any beliefs without any kind of prejudice. It certainly feels good to not have to wonder what another person may say after declaring a specific kind of belief.
Everyone has at least one belief; it just depends on what that belief is that determines what it could cause.
There will always be interesting views in existence, real or unreal.

Thanks for your brief introduction to yourself and for sharing some of your beliefs/understanding. I do not know much about Wicca beyond Sybil Leech and neopagan witchcraft and the religion of Wicca.
I am curious to know more about what you mean when you say you despise "negative energies"? What are "negative energy" and how can one and all agree how to recognize them? Is a storm that floods a village a "negative energy"? How about a lion that takes down a buck? Does the lion that kills or a mother that steals to feed her child to be seen as "negative energy"? Perhaps you could develop a belief module on "Negative Energies" and what they are and how they work. Personally, I believe that the only way we can profitably define "negative energies" in terms of those that arise within the self. It can be extremely difficult to tell someone that they are emanating negative energies and have them agree. One can only be equipped to recognize "negative energies" at their point of origin - within the Self. I'm Interested to hear more about what you mean when you say you despise "negative energies"?
I'm also curious to better understand what you mean when you say you do not like to tolerate any "competing" with other religions. The modern world is full of ideas that are in a constant process of competition as a process to gain wider acceptance. Is this not a major mechanism whereby ideas evolve over time? Hopefully the grounds of this competition are increasingly based on rational well-reasons logic and not primarily on myths, legends and superstition. In terms of tolerating competing religious ideals, I would suggest that tolerance in the key to interfaith harmony. Through tolerance greater understand can become achieved. In my mind, the question becomes, "How to facilitate religious harmony through tolerance."
Great you are here. l look forward to hearing more about your ideals and beliefs.
Welcome.
Permalink Reply by Silnaika Saira on October 17, 2012 at 12:18pm Kernel, Negative Energies are just that.
Bad smells can be negative energies, bad auras, evil feelings, etc.
Not every person that hears about them would agree what a negative energy is as everyone has their own opinion about them.
These energies can be visible and/or invisible. Different types of negative energies can be almost impossible to recognise before they strike! There are many ways of finding them which will always help someone that hates these horrible things. One way is to use one's phsycic abilites. Increasing them can make more of them visible over time, so it is possible to literally see them. Avoiding them may be difficult though, in situations such as crowded areas and even walking past someone, it can be annoying. Another way is to simply feel them; their presence. If someone coughs it is awful to even acknowledge the negative energy that is created. Poison is also another negative energy, lightning can be both if used the right way; destroying someone's home is a bad thing and lightning is an energy force so destruction could have negative effects, thus making the lightning a negative energy. Floods can be negative if they kill thousands of innocent people and wreck their homes. They can be positive energies if they give people water in which they can bathe in or even drink. There can also be energies that can heal diseases. Certain types of plants have these medicines in them and the results can be quite fascinating.
Energies of all types are everywhere. Not all can be used for either side of good or bad. In the right hands they are really useful, whereas if criminals find out how to use them, it could be a catastrophe. A belief module about them is a very interesting idea, perhaps it would help people better understand them.
I say I dislike the "competing" of religions because it is truly a waste of time to me. I would rather live my life the best I can instead of telling a Christian that Paganism is better and it is the truth, for example.
Some say arguments can be good for people, but I will never understand that. Heated debates can also create more negative energies, which is always bad. I do not feel the need for any kind of acceptence as long as people leave others alone. There will always be disagreements between people in such matters, but there can understandable reasons for both sides of the arguments.
Ideas can evolve over time, after all, Christianity was introduced from Paganism. Many of the details about both religions are very similar, others are completely different. Tolerence can lead to harmony, but how long would it last? Evil is an evergrowing thing and at some time even a single person can change a lot of things, leading to intolerence which leads to war and hatred. The very notions are negative in many terms. True harmony is complete acceptance of things, as long as it is for the right reasons. Another way to achieve harmony is to either live secretly or just hide in an isolated location, or by destroying all the evilness on the planet. Even today people of my faith in particular are still hiding from the ignorant, those that claim they are good people and others that are just brainwashed into believing these lies.
The Burning Times and the Spanish inquisition are very painful topics to hear about. If more people knew what they needed to, such things could be avoided.
Permalink Reply by Kernel John on October 17, 2012 at 11:45pm Silnaika, thanks for your thoughtful response.
You are sharing some interesting ideas. One is, in many cases, good and evil are situational and/or based on subjective interpretation. The smell in a restaurant may be received as positive and appetizing by one yet revolting or negative by another. Such examples are based on how we react, or not, to external circumstances. If one reacts positively to a "negative" energy or circumstance, by overcoming adversity - for example, then one would be said to transform negativity (adversity) into a positive victory.
It is the way we view things that determines our responses to them. For some, becoming a recluse may provide a means to avoid negativity, on the other hand, the positivity that presumably surrounds the recluse is not, theoretically, being shared directly with the others.
The school I attend includes the idea that when one becomes the master of the self, the elements will begin to align themselves accordingly. There is a wee bit more to this understanding than that, for one must also understand that over time the civilized planet has a natural tendency to move from order to disorder. Although there may still exist some remnants of order (paradise) on the planet, the overall direction is towards chaos. And, the only way to avoid negativity is to shower it in vibrational positivity.
It is by using such frameworks for viewing and navigating reality that people that can be better achieve personal joy and happiness. By defining such frameworks in terms of Belief Modules others might also take benefit. I think a module based on the concept of Positive and Negative energies might provide fertile ground for productive exploration by us and others.
Great hearing from you.
Permalink Reply by Silnaika Saira on October 18, 2012 at 5:19am There can always be some interesting reactions to either sides of positivity and negativity in many different places Some places will or should always have a negative effect on people unless they are completely clean at all times. These places include public restrooms.
Mastering the self will always put the correct elements into place as they should be. Order can be replaced but not always as easily as at a previous time. Not all kinds of "order" would be paradise if the wrong people are in charge. There could be peace at first but then a group of rebels may fight against them, but order will be restored what ever the outcome, eventually.
Important modules will be of great benefit to those that do not completely understand what is real and what is not, so even people hiding in their own illusions may find certain interests in it and less problems would occur.
