I find this a great place to dig for the words that give meaning to my feelings and otherwise vague intuitions - so don't be surprised if I contradict myself in what I say tomorrow.

Yes, the notion that God is one who chooses sides (interferes in the affairs of men) is a concept that is prone to manipulation by those who have power and authority over the rest of us. Maybe God interferes or maybe not. Regardless, you are correct, the notion is open to abuse.

I suspect a great truth was concealed a long long time ago from the people. We have been diverted from this truth by being told, by the priestly class, that we should direct our attention to an all powerful godhead without being informed that one cannot truly know the essence of god without first knowing their own true essence.

By being told to focus on god without being taught lesson # 1 flaws and contradictions in our understandings are bound to manifest and be amplified over time. To resolve this misunderstanding where do we go? To the priesthood for clarification and instruction regarding how to become a better worshiper.

Regardless of this, many of us intuitively understand there is more to life than physical existence - yet without knowledge of Self most of us are destined to search for something that actually resides within - the Self. From here is is possible to connect to deeper understandings.

Maybe that is a little harsh this much is true - "I" must get to in touch with "My-Self" before "I" be engaged in communion of any kind.

“So, where is this God in all of this”, you ask. That depends. Should the unexplainable phenomenon you mention be attributed to God? Over time, man has had a tendency to attribute the unexplainable (forces, powers, spirits) a category of the gods. At this time, however, we seem to be caught between attributing or passing off the unexplained to God or recognizing that the relatively new the found discipline of science seems to be explaining the unexplainable at a rapid and relatively reliable rate. So where is God? God had and always be a metaphysical concept – real or otherwise. By definition, our physical instruments do not come close to measuring or detecting god. As our instruments become more sensitive and capable and the previously non-physical (metaphysical) world seeps into our physical knowledge-base will God become a known commodity or entity? So you ask, “Where is God in all this”. She is still in the realm of philosophy – theology. A more pertinent question might be, if a metaphysical God does exist, does she interfere in the affairs of human kind?

Humanities interpretation of "What now " is likely well used words through time. When we look back over what we know as humanities history, it is a wonder we made it this far as a human race. We are special, in the fact that we have advanced to the point of having such an amazing brain/mind (too bad we don't put it to better use as a human race). Even though humanities is magnificent with great potentials, we have to keep in mind the physical realm will continue to unfold with or with out humanity. We lose our place as previous creatures and another will emerge in due time. So we must look ahead plan on where we as humanity want to take ourselves, our green world in the next 1000 years and beyond. Sometimes this is difficult to see in our polluted and hate filled societies. So, where is this God in all of this?

So what now? God only knows. We're making it up as we move along. As in any informal/ungoverned community like this, you'll find a broad spectrum of ideas and people pulling in all sorts of directions. The important thing is to participate, have fun and to feel free to be yourself. Cheers.
