Sidian M.S. Jones said… "In summary, I am not "debating" whether or not a belief module is valid or invalid, I am asking how what seem to be contrary belief modules can co exist and both be valid, not only within an individual as I asked Kernel about Jesus and Satan, but also between my own belief modules and other peoples belief modules, that may be contrary to mine."
This is testament to the fact that you don't understand how OSR works.
Think about it, if we only allowed belief modules that jive with YOUR belief modules, we'd just be making another religion wouldn't we? Nothing special about that.
OSR is TRANSPARENT. There is no inherent dogma. That means that ALL belief modules are accepted. Whether a person believes in them or not is up to them.
We are here to map the Human Belief Genome. That means collecting ALL belief modules.
Ironic how your accusation of the open system being dogmatic was really just a reflection of you thinking that there should be a dogmatic approach (only accepting belief modules that work with one another).
Kernel John said… Yes James, as you said to Sid. if YOU "FEEL . . . ." The problem is I never referenced man affective level of cognition - I said, "You sometimes do this by being obnoxious and testing limits." I gave you my observation - more, I did not share how I feel about you. In the past 48 hours, there have been 2 others in addition to myself who have asked you to back off. You have not. Hey, maybe obnoxious is too strong a word. Maybe you should simply tone down the intensity - unless you have something you are trying to prove.
Kernel John said… Don't worry about me James. Worry about . . . .
Kernel John said… James, you wonder how much people really love you. You sometimes do this by being obnoxious and testing limits. In this case, you seem to be testing how tolerant people really are around here and, in the process, alienating yourself from some pretty tolerant people - IMHO. Try listening a little harder and speaking a little less frequently for awhile. Its quality not quantity of participation that counts. Love ya man.
Kernel John said… James, why do you insult people by calling them "weak minded". That's pretty offensive stuff.

Sidian M.S. Jones said… James, what is it about your mind that you cannot consistently comprehend how OSR works?
Kernel John said… Gee James, aren't you a real smarty pants.

"The global AIDS program is a rare exception. So far, roughly 1.4 million AIDS patients have received lifesaving medicine paid for with American dollars, up from 50,000 before the initiative. Even Mr. Bush’s most ardent foes, among them Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, his 2004 Democratic challenger, find it difficult to argue with the numbers."
From the often quoted NY Times. If they have something nice to say about Bush, its gotta be to big to ignore, and its gotta be true. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/05/washington/05aids.html?pagewanted=all

I am not much of a blogger, but Kernel has requested I put my core beliefs here for referencing.
My core beliefs hang on the two commandments Jesus left his followers.
1. Love the spirit of Truth and Righteousness above all.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
I believe we should try to approach these matters through the expression of them in non religious or secular expressions of them that everyone can understand.
Having said that, my own personal…
