Wicca Laws

These are the laws all Wiccans should follow. Whoever claims to be of the Wicca but does not obey these rules, they are not truly Wiccan.

These make everything for the best. All questions are welcome, but no arguing.

Produced from here.

1. The Law was made and ordained of old.

2. The Law was made for the Wicca, to advise and help in their troubles.

3. The Wicca…

The ultimate war is within the self.  I can avoid this battle by seeing others as the reason for my struggle. Or, I can look internally for the source of the conflict.  Again, one cannot change the world, only ones perception of it.  The change must be inside.  As I change, so changes the world.  Yes, humanity may soon destroy itself but remember, you are an indivisible point of self-conscient energy.  You know no beginning or end.  There is not other like you.  You are a metaphysical soul that comes onto the world stage to play your role to the best of your ability.  When the drama ends, some will physically survive, the rest are called home and are re-purified in preparation for the next cycle that repeats itself.  It is all predefined like this.  Eventually, we are all liberated.  The question is do we seek liberation in life? Those who do, exhibit free will.  Those who don't are trapped within a world that you sometimes describe very well.

Silnaika, when you say. ". . . wait until all the warmongers are destroyed", you make it sound that there are those with with a warmonger gene and those without and that those with will eventually kill each other off.  Do you not think everyone has the potential to kill? Of course they do.  It may come under the pretext of self defense or it might manifest as outright murder but the world is full of people from all walks of life who kill others.  I think your premise that the warmongers will eventually kill each other off is simplistic.  Peace can only be attained by the individual.  Even warmongers are capable of attaining peace.  Look at Ashoka.

You say, "Sometimes it is possible to feed war by feeding peace."  Could you give an example?  In my mind Peace does not feed struggle.  One might convince themselves and others war is a pathway to peace but world history shows otherwise.  I understand that peace is our natural state but that through the drama of time it has been lost as a consequence of our actions (karma).  I share your understanding that only destruction will bring about peace.  At this point, the cycle of time will be spun once again, starting with a small number of inhabitants.  Souls will then again come into matter to repopulate the earth and engage in the drama of life - one more time.  The movement, over time, is from purity and peace to entropy and struggle.  You are correct to be concerned about such things as global warming.  It cannot be reversed.  It is already bringing suffering on a large scale.

Yes ending war is a struggle but the kind of war I'm referring to is the one that first exists within and gets expressed outside.  War and peace, it all depends on which one gets fed.  Which one do you strive to feed and is it a struggle?

The great late George Carlan puts it this way, "Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity."

John Lennon put it this way, "You either get tired fighting for peace, or you die."

Silnaika, you think it acceptable to fight for peace - if one must.  What circumstances, in your mind, would make it acceptable to fight for peace . . . or are you making a general statement?

At 5:44am on January 31, 2013, Kernel John said…

Your point of view, might have some logic to it . . . If others cannot be united in peace, perhaps you're right, those who believe they are united in peace could decide to destroy those who they decided to not aligned with their ideal of unity in peace - but this would suggest that those who though themselves to be united in peace were deluding themselves by claiming they are united in peace.

Once we realize it is not possible to change the world - only our perception of it, ones focus can become internally directed.  How can one find world peace without finding personal peace?

Silnaika, your point of view seems to be based on the notion that fighting for peace is an acceptable, if not valid, point of view.

At 10:18pm on January 30, 2013, Kernel John said…

The only way to unite human kind is to find peace within the self.  As the self changes, so does the world.
