A friend's film made it into the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. We spoke by phone today. She told me that film makers and film viewers are boycotting Sundance, in part or entirely, due to passage of Proposition 8. See article below that explains how Cinemark Theatre boss donated almost $10K to support Prop 8. As a result, film makers are insisting their work not be shown at the Cinemark theatre.
