An atheist is simply someone who's God is the present moment, which is funny because that's also where God is found.

Does this blog purport  to speak to the belief of all atheists or just the writer himself?

Although the writer seems to suggest a belief that there is a God.

It's a conundrum isn't it? How can one speak on behalf of both those with faith as well a those without unless one has experienced the superposition of opposites? Perhaps that is the viewpoint being expressed - neither and both.

Been there, done that.

I consider God to be the spirit of truth and righteousness,  not an entity that has those characteristics, but the very spirit of truth and righteiusness.. anyone who believes in, strives for, wants to adhere to those principles is a believer in God.

So even if a God does not exist , if that is the TRUTH then I still have my God.

Indeed! There is no "God". God is! How can you define that which is doing the defining?
Comment by James Germiquet on March 26, 2012 at 3:29pm

I am the one doing the defining for my own perception of God, which is the Spirit of Truth and Righteousness.

God is the one being defined.

Do you think God defines truth and righteousness?

Not in my belief module. In my belief module  I consider the concept of Adam and Eve being naked and knowing know shame ...then ..immediately after eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" they hid and made clothes to hide their nakedness.

So who really defined the truth and righteousness of being naked as being sinful? Not God because absolutes never change it either is or is not a sin to be naked?

It was man/Adam who had changed, not God. So then man chooses what to judge as good or evil, not God. Oh man may try to validate his judgement by claiming God is on his side, but....

This concept is further expounded on by Jesus teaching that 1. God does not judge us because he has given that authority to the son of man, and Jesus says he does not judge us because the son of man came into the world to save the world not to judge it. But Jesus goes on to say we will be judge by every word that He has spoken to us.

Judged by who? Well we heard those words love truth and righteousness and love others, and when the truth of ourselves is made known (like when Jesus wrote in the sand at the feet of those about to stone the woman caught in adultery) to ourselves, then we will judge ourselves as guilty and drop our own stones that we hurl at one another because of the sins we accuse each other of.

Summary: There is a God -----TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS----

We define truth and righteousness------

We will judge ourselves when we are forced to come face to face with TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS

You are the embodiment of truth an righteousness! Believe in yourself and shine forth!

I know you are right.

But why do I find that so hard to do?

Why do I let my fears and frailties stop me from believing in myself and shining forth?

Oh me of little faith!

James...Why do I let my fears and frailties stop me from believing in myself

Robert says...Because you have not yet discovered your "one and onl"y" True Self

reread the constant drum beat I have played for Kernel about his non existent True self.
That SELF James is not-connected too this world and once it is discovered and given some growth nutrients (Sunshine is the best and most nutritious soul growth vitamin), you will be able to achieve an "objective" awareness all the other illusions that you "think" is yourself, but are in actuality are simply internal habitual "reactions" that you accept from the programming you have been subjected to by nature...and your belief experiences.
Your True self is a transcendent godlike light or spark.

Thank You Robert

I am sure you are correct. Now comes the easy or hard part?

I am guessing the next step is just to try and be open to .... this true self, this inner spark...

... and try to react to that spark instead of reacting to old habits...

... it sounds like it might be a scary process....

We are a singular consciousness that has doubled back on itself to create the multitude of existence. This is why we are all divine and why all of creation is divine. We are already in Heaven. The Kingdon of God arrives when we awaken to our own true nature. Truth and righteousness and all the ancient values are symptoms of this enlightenment.
