Think about this for a moment.

Sunday…. Proclaimed King and joyously received by the masses in Jerusalem. Big party! Whoooo Hooooo!!!

Thursday… Betrayed

Friday… Tortured, Dead, and buried

That gotta be one of the worst weeks on record. What did Jesus do to fall from the pinnacle so fast?

He took down the corrupt Temple extortionists. They were robbing the people who came to do their proper worship. He chased them our of the Temple more then once in His life.

He called the Jewish leaders “White washed tombs…Nice on the outside, death and decay on the inside”. (Kristen- Social Religiosity at its finest… Jesus hated it!) He said that sinners, tax collectors, and prostitutes were loved by God and would likely find heaven before the religious and civic leaders.

He said Jerusalem and specifically the Temple was going to be flattened. (That happened in 70 AD under the Roman General Titus. More info at http://www.preteristarchive.com/StudyArchive/j/jerusalem_history.html )

Jesus never read “How to Make Friend and Influence People” He just told the truth. The established hierarchy “Couldn’t handle the truth!” Jesus had been rocking the boat hard for three years, and they had enough.

Top of the world to dead bloody pulp hanging on a cross in 5 days. Maybe the religious leader that had him killed celebrated, maybe some felt bad, who knows?

None of them had a clue…. there was another Sunday was coming!
