This is a bit off the normal track, however 2-3 times over the course of the years Christians have been called flat-earth believers on this site.  The Flat Earth Society is an active organization currently led by a 33 yr old man originally from Virginia named Daniel Shenton.  Though Shenton believes in evolution and global warming, he and his hundreds, if not thousands, of followers worldwide also believe that the Earth is a disc that you can fall off of.

Are we not all entitled to a world view and for others to acknowledge and respect it.

If Daniel Shenton finds that his view helps him more accurately understand and function within the world, there should be no problem of others accepting and rspecting that he works under this premise.

I suppose if people who had this belief actually fell off the edge of the earth as a consequence, then an opposition would probably be mounted to protect our children.   However, there doesn't seem root cause evidence of travelers loosing their lives because the earth is flat.

What I think is: When the earth was thought to be flat, people behaved as if it were.  When people understood the earth was a sphere, new worlds were discovered.

My world view does not include the notion of a flat earth but it does include other seemingly irrational concepts.  For example, if one learns to swim as it they have webbed fingers, they achieve superior results.  Go figure.

Nice little video, Kernel...and it sure looks like the edge, as they present it (though not as a disc).  And I agree, we are all entitled to our own worldview, as long as we do not try to impose or force that upon others.

One of the reasons I posted this however, was to emphasize that this person firmly believes in what Darwin taught, rather than what the Bible teaches...and that seems to be contrary to the popular notion that Christians believe (or once believed) in a flat earth...something that some have used to mock Christians.

And I have read also about the webbed finger thinking for swimmers.  Neat stuff!
