This video is not intended to make fun of Deepak, but to show the logical fallacies in his reasoning.

Light-hearted moment, yes, but c'mon, in context.

The fact is that all belief is an effort to address insecurities. Though the belief that scienctific methodology attempts to address and secure a more accurate understanding of our physical world cannot be misconstrued in the same way as mainly mythologically-led religious stories.

Good thought provoking moment nevertheless.

Why show only 37 seconds of video?

Plenty of place left to go.  Another minute or two would have been fine.

I agree.  "scientific understanding of our physical world" should be construed in exactly the same way as "mythologically-led religious stories", except that the latter are far more fact-based.

If you recall my post about absolute truth, I feel the same logic holds...

Them: "There is no absolute truth"

Me: "Do you believe that to be absolutely true?"

Them: "Yes"

Me: "Thank You"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Until someone comes along with new information."

God has all the information there will ever be.

God is, whether we believe or not. God is not an invention, He is "The Inventor".

No Jeff, I do not recall your post about absolute truth.  I come from the Frank Buchman school and remember you hardly at all.

You say:

Them: "There is no absolute truth"

Me: "Do you believe that to be absolutely true?"

   Them: "Yes"

   Me: "Thank You"

We say . . .

We:  "There is absolute truth and we leave it for fools to claim they know.
He who claims to know it commits an untruth along the journey of time
            - that is - until the end when that which is not becomes apparent to us all."

Them: "But there is an absolute truth and it is there for anyone but the unjust or unknowing to claim."

We:  We claim to be the just and those who know truth, yet we are humbled by the Truth. so humbled that we do not cailm to own it or even know it in its entirety. To what to we wish to comply?"

Others: We are "Them" yet we do not trust "them" with the truth.  If there is absolute Truth, we trust only He who is the author.  No need for an interpretation or to have "We" as the interpreter of truth.

We: We are now talking of a time when Gods truth descends upon us - all equally and according to our own strengths, characteristics and capacities.  Is there something about this approach that is unacceptable?

- - - - -

Jeff, what are we to lose by not listening to what you so kindly offer us?

Are we more feeble than you?

Do we (others) not see as well as you?

Or, are we simply the ones prepared to venture further, faster and longer than you?

This knowledge says, "The last go fast."

There is still time.

Do you see yourself, one day, inhabiting Golden Age (Paradise) along with the great soul (sun of god)? Probably not.

You are chained to the founder of your religion and through this construct connected to God the Father of all Souls. This is OK.  Don't worry.  Be Happy.
