Largely sham and hypocrisy in this video. Especially its comments about women, whose testimony is only of half the value of that of men. Islam considers Jesus (whom the Qu'ran call Isa, which is more like a transliteration of Isaac of the Old Testament) merely a messenger and they deny his crucifixion on the cross/tree (very conveniently) which is contrary to the volume of the Bible.

Yeah, good thing the Bible doesn't say insulting things about women like:

As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. (NIV, 1 Corinthians 14:33-35)

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. (NIV, 1 Timothy 2:11-12)
------------

Otherwise Christianity would sound a lot like Islam!! Wouldn't that be funny?

On another note, this video has way too many testimonies from people in history. This sort of thing proves little to nothing about a religion. Scientology has Tom Cruise; but that doesn't make Lord Xenu any less insane of an idea.

Submission largely has to do with following a chain of command, so that there is more order and less (or no confusion). It is not intended to create imperiousness (on the husband's part) or inferiority, because even though the wife is in submission to her husband, she is not considered any less (of value), since we are all equal in Christ (Eph 5.21-25). You neglected all the positive things that the Bible says about women, which are far more abundant. perhaps best summed up in Prov 31.28 "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

The testimonies on the video prove/mean nothing...I certainly agree with you on that point.

dear doug the ouran said >4:157 (Asad) and their boast, "Behold, we have slain the Christ jesus, son of Mary, [who claimed to be] an apostle of God!" However, they did not slay him, and neither did they crucify him, but it only seemed to them [as if it had been] so; [171] and, verily, those who hold conflicting views thereon are indeed confused, having no [real] knowledge thereof, and following mere conjecture. For, of a certainty, they did not slay him

nashwanalganem,

I am sorry to inform you, that this is one of just many places that the Qu'ran has incorrectly "copied" from the Bible. The Bible is a much more accurate account of what happened, especially in the 4 Gospels, since they were written just a few decades AFTER the actual event took place, whereas Mohammed spoke his account of the event after reading the Bible about 700 years later. I know it is considered inappropriate to question anything in the Qu'ran, but that is necessary in order to be intectually honest. Do you dare to do so?

aside: (The brief comment just above your last one is a fine example of vacuity and modern intellectualism.)

Going by your figures (an half century or so), I would consider that as a few (since half a century is 5 decades).
Mohammed never wrote the Qu'ran, rather he proclaimed it, and it was recorded by whoever happened to be present. It was then collected into a book long after Mohammed's death. Furthermore, the Qu'ran itself states that it "confirms" the Bible (Surah 4:47 "O ye People of the Book! Believe in what we have revealed, confirming what was with you..."), even though it contradicts it in numerous passages. My goof on saying 700 years, but 500 years is stretching it. Either way, that's about 8 to 10 times longer amount of time. I think that's rather significant. But what is more significant are all of the discrepancies between what they record.

Nash, would you like to comment on the following 'core' discrepancies...

I agree, many similarities of the historic storylines exist between the Qur’an and its referencing to the Bible. But where they appear to differ, and in some cases to the extremes, are the very different attitudinal viewpoints with regard to the nature of the human condition.

Take for example how key OT patriarchal figures are viewed by both. In the Bible their fallibility and errors are openly exposed and recorded, while in the Qur’an they are viewed as the most holy of men and therefore deemed closer to the infallibility reflected in their creator, so their gross errors are not mentioned as in the bible accounts and considered to be lies.

An Islamic scholar [taken from readingislam.com] explains…

No rational mind could accept the false charges and shameless references to the great prophets, peace and blessings be upon them all, such as:
· Noah: getting drunk and naked in front of his sons. See Genesis 9: 20-24.
· Aaron: making a golden calf to worship. See Exodus 32: 3-4.
· Solomon: worshiping false gods, to please his large harem. See 1 Kings 11: 9-10.
· David: committing adultery. See 2 Samuel 11: 4-5.
· Lot: committing incest with his two daughters. See Genesis 19: 31-36.
Could such texts be inspired by God!

It can thus be concluded that the available Bible has nothing to do with the original Injeel of Jesus or Torah of Moses, both of which have disappeared, except in as much as traces of their texts might be part of the few sayings attributed to Moses and Jesus in the Bible. Still, it is difficult to decide which of these sayings are divine revelations and which are the teachings of the respective prophet.

Hence, it is an over-simplification to say that the available Bible is the word of God, corrupted by Man. Rather, it is almost A-Z a human text. Why then should not God allow the corruption of what His creatures invented?

Allah says in the Qur’an what means:
*{So woe to [the ones] who write the Book with their hands; thereafter they say, “This is from [the providence of] Allah.” That they may trade it for a little price; So, woe to those for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they have earned.}* (Al-Baqarah 2: 79)
*{And who is more unjust than he who has fabricated against Allah a lie, or has said: “to me it has been revealed” and nothing has been revealed to him. And who has said: “I will send down the like of what Allah has sent down.”}*(Al-An`am 6: 93)
...............................................................................................................................................................

Without doubt, both the tone of the Bible and the Qur’an strive in their efforts to guide humankind towards righteousness and by that a better relationship with their creator. But the discrepancy seems to be from two different standpoints. I think the problem may have to do with the concept of ‘original sin’, because whereas the Bible explains that all are ‘born in sin’ and so are in need of guidance from God, the Qur’an teaches that everyone is 'born pure’ and it is us who corrupt our lives during it. Hence the two very different approaches.

Hence, the 'origin of sin' seems to be at the very core of this division.

Dear Roman

Hardly any sane person does not affirm that the Gospel had been manipulated by the hands of falsehood Igiwa truth for the benefit of what I can hardly Avgahha These existing copies of the Gospel is the best proof of my words.
The Koran is a book that God Almighty has said in His Holy Book
(( We have, without doubt, SENT DOWN the Message; and We will assuredly guard it )) Al-Hijr [15:9] Is saved from any falsehood or misrepresentation. And the Quran eloquently where formulas can not be eloquent to touch any of his narrative style, or that go along with its approach.

And the biggest sin is lack of faith in the existence of God and imagine that all these realms of life, these things are the result of the development aspire or group of transformations Biiipoeardeni question that comes to my mind that it was imagined that life is a result of the development where a good life, which came out how they found the ground, for example, and how he became All of this system and I mean this is the cosmic order is the origin of these self-sufficient and absolute that can have this system, beauty and creativity?
Thank you and aLLAH bless you and guide you to the path of truth
